Ashley Etheridge, LCMHC

Hi, I’m Ashley and I can be your child’s therapist in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Let’s be direct and to the point. Here is a bit about me.

  • My approach is all about listening and supporting you to find the solutions
  • Former preschool teacher
  • Artsy and creative
  • Introvert
  • I love working with ADHD and Autistic children who have anxiety and low self esteem

I am passionate about working with parents and their ADHD or Autistic children who have anxiety.

➤ Is this you?

  • Is your child an artsy and creative type, who beats to the sound of their own drum? Do their classmates or teachers not “get” them, which is taking a hit to their confidence? As a parent, you know your child would benefit from a creative environment that includes artistic options for learning about feelings.
  • Is your child navigating being one of the oldest in their grade due to TK or being held back a year? Maybe socially or emotionally they are struggling to connect and make friends?
  • Has the last few years put a microscope on the challenges your child is dealing with, like their anxiety or low social confidence?
  • Are you new to a diagnosis of Autism and looking to navigate what that might look like for your son or daughter?
  • Your anxious child has a diagnosis of ADHD or Autism – you know that parenting looks different when your child has unique needs and you’re ready for specific direction and strategies on how to help them.

➤ How can I help?

  • I focus on helping your child build and strengthen their coping skills through the use of play techniques, art interventions, and mindfulness skills.
  • I teach emotional awareness to both you and your child. I will teach your child how to identify what they are feeling, and what they can do when they feel overwhelmed.
  • I focus on helping parents through parent coaching where we discuss parenting styles, family of origin influences, behavior modification, and how they relate to your child’s diagnosis.
  • I am an introvert by nature who loves to listen. I take the time to hear you out, but when appropriate I will also challenge ineffective parenting strategies and offer proven alternatives.
